Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups (240g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (240ml) buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup (113g) melted unsalted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup (50g) Christmas sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your loaf pan with butter or cooking spray.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together 2 cups (240g) of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon baking soda, and 1/2 teaspoon salt.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk 1 cup (240ml) buttermilk, 1/2 cup (113g) melted unsalted butter, 2 large eggs, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Use a spatula to gently fold them together until just combined—don’t overmix.
  5. Fold in 1/3 cup (50g) of Christmas sprinkles, reserving a handful for topping.
  6. Transfer the batter to your greased loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula. Sprinkle the reserved sprinkles evenly over the top.
  7. Place the pan in the oven and bake for 50-55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a cooling rack to cool completely.

Notes

[‘Don’t overmix the batter to avoid dense bread.’, ‘Room temperature eggs and buttermilk ensure smoother mixing.’, ‘Toss sprinkles in a little flour before folding them into the batter to prevent sinking.’, ‘Let the bread cool completely before slicing to avoid crumbling.’]
