Cozy S’mores Banana Boats

s’mores banana boats - featured image

An easy grilled dessert combining ripe bananas, mini marshmallows, and chocolate squares wrapped in foil and cooked to gooey perfection. Perfect for summer fun and quick sweet cravings.

Ingredients

  • Bananas (ripe but firm)
  • Mini marshmallows
  • Chocolate squares or chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate recommended)
  • Heavy-duty aluminum foil
  • Optional toppings: chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans), peanut butter or Nutella, shredded coconut, sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill to medium heat (about 350°F).
  2. Wash and dry the bananas. Slice each banana lengthwise, stopping about half an inch from the bottom to keep it intact.
  3. Gently pry open the slit and stuff with about 2 tablespoons each of mini marshmallows and chocolate squares. Add optional toppings if desired.
  4. Place each stuffed banana on a piece of heavy-duty aluminum foil and wrap tightly to seal.
  5. Place foil packets on the grill grates and cook for 8–10 minutes, turning once halfway through. Check after 8 minutes for golden marshmallows and melted chocolate.
  6. Remove foil packets using tongs and let cool for a minute or two before unwrapping carefully.
  7. Serve warm, scooping into bowls or eating straight from the foil.

Notes

If marshmallows brown too fast, lower the heat or move packets to a cooler part of the grill. For softer bananas, grill a minute or two longer but watch for foil tears. Can be made in a grill pan or oven at 350°F for 10-12 minutes wrapped in foil if no grill is available. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days and reheat gently.
