A quick and easy 5-minute snack featuring creamy peanut butter centers, ripe banana slices, and a smooth semi-sweet chocolate coating, perfect for a refreshing treat any time.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Ripe bananas (firm but sweet)
  • Natural peanut butter (smooth or creamy)
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (about 170 g)
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional but recommended)
  • Pinch of sea salt

Instructions

  1. Peel and slice bananas into 1/2-inch thick rounds. Set aside on a plate.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  3. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine chocolate chips and coconut oil. Heat in 20-second increments, stirring until smooth and glossy.
  4. Using tongs or a fork, dip each banana slice fully into the melted chocolate, letting excess drip off. Place on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on top of each chocolate-coated banana bite while still wet.
  6. Freeze the baking sheet for at least 1 hour or until chocolate hardens completely.
  7. Transfer frozen bites to an airtight container and keep frozen until ready to serve. Let sit at room temperature for a few minutes if too hard.

Notes

Use ripe but firm bananas to prevent browning and ensure sweetness. Coconut oil is optional but helps create a smooth, glossy chocolate coating. Work quickly when dipping to avoid banana slices softening. Store bites in an airtight container to prevent freezer taste. For nut-free version, substitute peanut butter with sunflower seed butter and use dairy-free chocolate chips.
