creamy iced caramel macchiato recipe - featured image

A quick and easy homemade iced caramel macchiato that combines creamy milk, bold espresso, vanilla syrup, and caramel drizzle for a refreshing coffee treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 shots (about 2 oz / 60 ml) freshly brewed espresso
  • 1 cup (240 ml) milk (whole, skim, almond, oat, or soy milk)
  • 12 tablespoons vanilla syrup
  • 2 tablespoons caramel sauce, plus extra for drizzle
  • Ice cubes (enough to fill glass halfway, about 1 cup / 240 ml)

Instructions

  1. Brew 1-2 shots (about 2 oz / 60 ml) of fresh espresso. If no espresso machine, brew ½ cup (120 ml) strong coffee using moka pot or French press and concentrate if desired.
  2. Fill a tall glass halfway with ice cubes (about 1 cup / 240 ml).
  3. Pour 1-2 tablespoons of vanilla syrup over the ice.
  4. Slowly add 1 cup (240 ml) of cold milk over the ice and syrup. Froth milk beforehand if desired.
  5. Gently pour the freshly brewed espresso over the milk to create layered swirls.
  6. Drizzle 2 tablespoons of caramel sauce over the top of the espresso. Add extra drizzle if desired.
  7. Optionally stir gently to mix flavors or sip layered.

Notes

Let espresso cool slightly before pouring over milk to avoid melting ice too fast. Pour espresso slowly over the back of a spoon to maintain layers. Warm caramel sauce slightly if thick for smooth drizzle. Use larger ice cubes to avoid quick dilution.
