  • 8 ounces egg noodles, cooked al dente
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 can (10.5 ounces) condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup butter, melted
  • 1 ½ cups crushed Ritz crackers
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add 8 ounces of egg noodles and cook for 7–8 minutes until just tender but still firm to the bite. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine 4 ounces softened cream cheese, 1 cup sour cream, and 1 can condensed cream of chicken soup. Whisk until smooth and creamy, ensuring the cream cheese is fully incorporated.
  3. Add 1 teaspoon onion powder, ½ teaspoon garlic powder, salt, and pepper to taste. Stir well to blend the flavors evenly.
  4. Fold in the shredded chicken (about 3 cups) and the cooked egg noodles. Gently combine until noodles and chicken are coated with the sauce.
  5. In a small bowl, mix 1 ½ cups crushed Ritz crackers with ½ cup melted butter and 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese.
  6. Pour the creamy chicken and noodle mixture into a greased 9×13-inch casserole dish. Spread evenly, then sprinkle the cracker and cheese topping over the surface.
  7. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and crispy and the casserole is bubbly around the edges.
  8. Let the casserole rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Soften cream cheese at room temperature for about 30 minutes to avoid lumps. Use rotisserie chicken for convenience. If topping browns too quickly, cover loosely with foil halfway through baking. Let casserole rest 5 minutes before serving for better texture. For gluten-free, use gluten-free noodles and crackers.
