A quick and easy creamy tiramisu trifle made in individual servings, combining espresso-soaked ladyfingers with a light mascarpone and whipped cream filling. Perfect for potlucks, parties, or cozy weekend treats.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2024 ladyfingers (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup (240 ml) espresso or strong coffee, cooled
  • 8 oz (225 g) mascarpone cheese, room temperature
  • 1 cup (240 ml) heavy whipping cream, chilled
  • 1/4 cup (50 g) granulated sugar, adjust to taste
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Unsweetened cocoa powder, for dusting
  • Dark chocolate shavings (optional), for garnish
  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) amaretto or coffee liqueur (optional)

Instructions

  1. Brew 1 cup (240 ml) of strong espresso or coffee and let it cool completely. Stir in amaretto or coffee liqueur if using.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whip 1 cup (240 ml) of chilled heavy whipping cream on medium-high speed until soft peaks form, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine 8 oz (225 g) mascarpone cheese with 1/4 cup (50 g) granulated sugar and 1 tsp vanilla extract. Stir gently until smooth and creamy.
  4. Carefully fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully combined, keeping the filling light and airy.
  5. Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the cooled coffee mixture for 1-2 seconds, ensuring they are moist but still hold their shape.
  6. In individual serving glasses, layer 3-4 soaked ladyfingers, then add a generous spoonful of mascarpone cream. Repeat layers until glasses are filled, finishing with mascarpone cream on top.
  7. Cover the glasses with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow flavors to meld and cream to set.
  8. Before serving, sift unsweetened cocoa powder over each trifle and garnish with dark chocolate shavings if desired.

Notes

Do not over-soak ladyfingers to avoid sogginess; dip quickly for 1-2 seconds. Use room temperature mascarpone for smooth texture. Whip cream until soft peaks form and fold gently to keep filling light. Chill at least 4 hours or overnight for best flavor. Dust cocoa powder just before serving to keep it fresh.
