These Crescent Roll Cinnamon Twists are an easy and irresistible dessert made with store-bought crescent roll dough and pantry staples. Perfect for any occasion, they’re flaky, sweet, and perfectly spiced.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (8-ounce) package crescent roll dough
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • All-purpose flour, for dusting
  • Optional glaze: 1/2 cup powdered sugar, 1 tablespoon milk, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small mixing bowl, combine 1/4 cup granulated sugar and 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon. Stir until evenly mixed.
  3. Lightly dust your work surface with flour. Unroll the crescent roll dough and gently pinch the seams together to create one large sheet.
  4. Melt 3 tablespoons of unsalted butter and use a pastry brush to evenly coat the surface of the dough.
  5. Generously sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over the buttered dough, covering it completely.
  6. Use a sharp knife or pizza cutter to slice the dough into strips about 1 inch wide. Twist each strip by holding both ends and gently turning in opposite directions.
  7. Place the twisted strips on your prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each one.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown and fragrant.
  9. Optional: While the twists are baking, mix 1/2 cup powdered sugar, 1 tablespoon milk, and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract in a bowl. Drizzle the glaze over the warm twists before serving.

Notes

Use cold crescent roll dough for easier handling. Don’t overload the cinnamon sugar to avoid overly sweet twists. Watch the oven closely as these bake quickly.
