  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (for brushing bread)
  • 1/4 cup ranch dressing
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried dill
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup sliced pepperoni or cooked bacon bits (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onions
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. In a small mixing bowl, combine ranch dressing, garlic powder, and dried dill. Stir until smooth and set aside.
  3. Brush both sides of each bread slice lightly with olive oil (about 1/2 tablespoon per slice).
  4. Spread about 1 tablespoon of ranch sauce evenly on one side of each bread slice. Sprinkle approximately 3 tablespoons shredded mozzarella cheese, then 1 tablespoon cheddar cheese on top. Add pepperoni or bacon bits if using. Finish with a pinch of red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper if desired.
  5. Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes until cheese is melted, bubbly, and bread edges are golden and crispy. Watch closely after 10 minutes to avoid burning.
  6. Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle chopped green onions on top. Let cool for 1-2 minutes before serving.

Notes

Brush bread well with olive oil for best crispiness. Use freshly shredded cheese for better meltiness. Avoid overloading toppings to prevent sogginess. Bake on the lowest rack for an ultra-crisp bottom. Let melts rest briefly before eating to avoid burns and help flavors settle.
