A festive and crunchy trail mix combining toasted nuts, heart-shaped candies, dried fruit, and white chocolate chips, perfect for Valentine’s parties and quick snacking.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup raw almonds (skin on, for extra crunch)
  • 1 cup raw cashews (unsalted)
  • 1/2 cup pecans (chopped roughly)
  • 1 cup mini heart-shaped candies (like conversation hearts or red and pink M&Ms)
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons honey (or maple syrup for a vegan option)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Spread the almonds, cashews, and pecans evenly on your baking sheet lined with parchment paper in a single layer.
  3. Toast the nuts in the oven for 10-12 minutes, stirring halfway through, until fragrant and golden.
  4. Remove the nuts from the oven and let them cool slightly.
  5. In a small bowl, mix honey (or maple syrup), cinnamon, sea salt, and vanilla extract.
  6. Pour the glaze over the warm nuts and toss gently to coat.
  7. Let the coated nuts cool completely (about 15 minutes).
  8. Add the dried cranberries, white chocolate chips, and mini heart-shaped candies to the bowl and stir gently to combine without breaking the candies.
  9. Give the entire mix one last gentle toss and transfer to a serving bowl or airtight container.

Notes

Toast nuts evenly and watch closely to avoid burning. Mix honey and spices while nuts are warm but not hot to avoid sogginess. Cool nuts completely before adding candies to prevent melting. Store in airtight container at room temperature up to 5 days or refrigerate up to 2 weeks.
