A quick, festive, and crunchy Valentine’s Day trail mix combining toasted nuts, oat cereal, sweet candies, and a hint of spice for a perfect party treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups Cheerios or similar oat cereal
  • 1 cup mini pretzels
  • 1 cup roasted almonds
  • 1 cup roasted cashews
  • 1 cup red and pink M&M’s (Valentine’s themed)
  • ½ cup white chocolate chips
  • ½ cup dried cranberries
  • 2 tablespoons heart-shaped sprinkles or candy confetti (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread almonds, cashews, and pretzels evenly on a baking sheet and toast for 8-10 minutes until golden and fragrant. Let cool completely.
  2. In a large bowl, combine 3 cups Cheerios with the cooled nuts and pretzels. Toss gently to blend evenly without crushing the cereal.
  3. Add 1 cup Valentine’s M&M’s, ½ cup white chocolate chips, and ½ cup dried cranberries. Sprinkle in heart-shaped sprinkles if using.
  4. Sprinkle ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon and a pinch of sea salt over the mixture. Gently toss again to distribute evenly.
  5. Taste and adjust sweetness or crunch by adding more chocolate chips, candies, nuts, or pretzels as desired.
  6. Transfer trail mix to an airtight container or festive bags. Store at room temperature for up to 7 days.

Notes

Toast nuts and pretzels to enhance flavor and crunch but watch carefully to avoid burning. Cool nuts completely before mixing to prevent melting chocolate chips. Use a gentle folding motion to keep cereal intact. Make ahead and let flavors meld overnight for best taste. For gluten-free, use certified gluten-free cereal and pretzels. Nut-free versions can substitute nuts with seeds or extra pretzels.
