  • 1 large egg (room temperature) – to be added when baking
  • ⅓ cup (80ml) vegetable oil or melted butter – to be added when baking
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional) – to be added when baking

Instructions

  1. Clean and dry your mason jar thoroughly to avoid moisture.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine granulated sugar and brown sugar; stir to break up clumps.
  3. Layer 1 cup sifted flour at the bottom of the jar using a spoon or funnel.
  4. Add ⅓ cup cocoa powder evenly over the flour; tap jar lightly to level.
  5. Pour combined sugars (1½ cups total) on top of cocoa layer; tap gently to compact.
  6. Sprinkle ½ teaspoon baking powder and ¼ teaspoon salt over sugar layer.
  7. Add ½ cup chocolate chips evenly.
  8. Sprinkle 1 teaspoon vanilla sugar on top.
  9. Seal the jar tightly with the lid and wipe outside clean.
  10. Attach instructions: Add 1 large egg, ⅓ cup vegetable oil, and optional 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Mix well and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes.
