A refreshing margarita that balances the sweetness of fresh mango with the spicy kick of jalapeño, finished with a tangy Tajín salt rim. Perfect for summer gatherings or unwinding after a long day.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fresh mango, peeled, pitted, and diced
  • 1 small jalapeño, seeded and chopped (leave seeds in for extra heat)
  • 2 oz (60 ml) tequila blanco (100% agave preferred)
  • 1 oz (30 ml) fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 oz (15 ml) agave syrup
  • Tajín seasoning for rimming the glass
  • Ice cubes
  • Optional: fresh mint leaves for garnish
  • Optional: splash of orange liqueur (e.g., Cointreau)

Instructions

  1. Rub a lime wedge around the rim of each glass. Pour Tajín seasoning onto a small plate and dip the rims into the seasoning to coat evenly. Set aside to dry slightly (about 5 minutes).
  2. In a blender, combine diced mango and chopped jalapeño. Blend until very smooth, about 30 seconds. Add a splash of water or lime juice if mixture is too thick.
  3. Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice. Add tequila, fresh lime juice, agave syrup, and mango jalapeño puree.
  4. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds until the shaker feels cold and frosty.
  5. Fill the prepared glasses with ice. Strain the margarita mixture into the glasses, leaving some space at the top.
  6. Garnish with a thin slice of jalapeño or a small wedge of mango on the rim. Optionally, add a sprig of fresh mint.

Notes

Remove jalapeño seeds to reduce heat. Use ripe mango for best flavor. Chill glasses before serving. For a frozen version, blend ice with other ingredients. Adjust sweetness with agave syrup or substitute with honey or simple syrup. Store leftover mango jalapeño puree in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.
