A creamy, fresh ranch dip made with blended cottage cheese, roasted garlic, and fresh herbs. Perfect for snacking with veggies, baked potatoes, or crackers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups cottage cheese (full-fat or low-fat)
  • 1 bulb roasted garlic
  • ¼ cup buttermilk
  • 3 tablespoons fresh herbs (parsley, dill, chives), finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice the top off one garlic bulb to expose the cloves, drizzle with olive oil, wrap in foil, and roast for 30-40 minutes until soft and golden. Let cool slightly.
  2. Place 1 ½ cups cottage cheese in a food processor and blend for 2-3 minutes until completely smooth and creamy.
  3. Squeeze the soft roasted garlic cloves into the food processor with the blended cottage cheese.
  4. Add ¼ cup buttermilk, 2 tablespoons mayonnaise, 3 tablespoons chopped fresh herbs, 1 teaspoon lemon juice, 1 teaspoon onion powder, ½ teaspoon dried oregano, salt, and pepper to taste.
  5. Pulse to combine until mixed but herbs remain visible.
  6. If too thick, add more buttermilk 1 tablespoon at a time to adjust consistency. Taste and adjust salt, pepper, or lemon juice as needed.
  7. Transfer dip to a bowl, cover, and refrigerate at least 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

Blend cottage cheese until smooth for best texture. Roast garlic slowly wrapped in foil to mellow flavor. Chill dip at least 30 minutes before serving to deepen flavors. Adjust consistency with buttermilk as needed. For extra creaminess, stir in sour cream before chilling. Store leftovers in airtight container up to 4 days.
