A quick, nut-free snack featuring creamy sunflower butter, sweet honey, and crisp apple slices wrapped in a soft whole wheat tortilla. Perfect for kids and adults alike, this wrap is wholesome, flavorful, and easy to make.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 8-inch whole wheat tortilla
  • 3 tablespoons sunflower butter
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 medium apple (Granny Smith or Fuji), thinly sliced
  • Pinch of cinnamon
  • Optional add-ins: 1 teaspoon chia seeds, 1 tablespoon raisins or dried cranberries, baby spinach leaves

Instructions

  1. Wash and core one medium apple. Slice it thinly, about 1/8-inch (3 mm) thick. Pat dry with a paper towel if slices are juicy.
  2. Warm the whole wheat tortilla on a dry skillet over medium heat for about 20 seconds each side or microwave for 10 seconds wrapped in a damp paper towel.
  3. Spread 3 tablespoons of sunflower butter evenly over the tortilla, leaving about a half-inch border around the edges.
  4. Drizzle 1 tablespoon of honey evenly over the sunflower butter layer, then sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon.
  5. Arrange the thin apple slices evenly over the honey and sunflower butter. Optionally sprinkle chia seeds or add dried fruit at this stage.
  6. Starting from one edge, gently roll the tortilla into a tight wrap. Press lightly to keep everything snug. Slice in half diagonally if desired.
  7. Serve immediately or wrap tightly in parchment paper for later. Best eaten fresh to keep apple crisp.

Notes

Use thin apple slices to prevent tearing and make rolling easier. Warm the tortilla to make it pliable. Pat apple slices dry if juicy to avoid sogginess. Optional add-ins like chia seeds or dried fruit add texture and nutrition. For gluten-free, substitute with gluten-free tortillas. For vegan, replace honey with maple syrup or agave nectar.
