  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or finely chopped (rotisserie chicken recommended)
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
  • 1 16-ounce can canned biscuit dough
  • 2 stalks green onions, thinly sliced for garnish
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small saucepan over low heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant, avoiding browning.
  3. Stir in 1/4 cup honey, 1 tablespoon soy sauce, and optional 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes. Simmer gently for 2 minutes until glossy and slightly thickened. Remove from heat and set aside.
  4. Place 2 cups shredded cooked chicken in a mixing bowl. Pour half of the honey garlic sauce over the chicken and mix well to coat. Reserve the remaining sauce for glazing.
  5. Open the 16-ounce can of biscuit dough and separate the biscuits. Cut each biscuit into halves or thirds to make bite-sized portions and flatten each piece gently into a small disc.
  6. Place about 1 tablespoon of the honey garlic chicken in the center of each biscuit disc. Fold the dough around the filling, pinching edges to seal. Place each bite seam-side down on the baking sheet.
  7. Brush each biscuit bite generously with the reserved honey garlic sauce.
  8. Bake for 15-18 minutes or until biscuits are golden brown and puffed up.
  9. Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle with sliced green onions and sesame seeds. Serve warm.

Notes

Cook garlic gently to avoid bitterness. Mix half the sauce with chicken and reserve half for glazing for double flavor. Avoid overstuffing biscuit bites to prevent leaks. Warm dough slightly if too stiff. Space bites about an inch apart on baking sheet. For crispier tops, broil for last 1-2 minutes watching closely. Reheat leftovers in oven at 350°F for 8 minutes to maintain crispiness.
