This crockpot crack chicken recipe combines tender chicken breasts with a creamy blend of cream cheese, ranch seasoning, cheddar cheese, and crispy bacon for an easy, comforting dinner perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 packet (or 1 tablespoon) ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 6 slices cooked and crumbled bacon
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Optional: sliced green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Pat dry the chicken breasts and place them evenly in the bottom of the crockpot.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine softened cream cheese, ranch seasoning mix, garlic powder, and onion powder. Stir until smooth.
  3. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the chicken breasts in the crockpot.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 4 hours or on high for about 2.5 hours until chicken reaches 165°F and is tender enough to shred.
  5. Shred the chicken directly in the crockpot using two forks and mix well with the creamy sauce.
  6. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon on top. Cover and let cheese melt for 10-15 minutes on low.
  7. Garnish with sliced green onions before serving.

Notes

Cook bacon separately until crispy before adding to the dish to avoid greasy texture. Use softened cream cheese for smooth sauce. If sauce is too thick after shredding, add a splash of chicken broth or milk to loosen. Resist lifting the lid during cooking to maintain heat.
