Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 fresh bagels (plain, everything, or cinnamon raisin)
  • 8 ounces (227 grams) full-fat softened cream cheese
  • 1 cup (120 grams) powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest (optional)
  • 1 cup (150 grams) sliced strawberries
  • 1 cup (150 grams) blueberries
  • 1 cup (150 grams) raspberries
  • 1 cup (150 grams) blackberries
  • Honey or maple syrup (optional, for drizzling)
  • Fresh mint leaves (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cream Cheese Frosting: In a medium bowl, beat 8 ounces of softened cream cheese with 1 cup powdered sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract until smooth and creamy, about 2–3 minutes using an electric mixer or 5 minutes by hand. Add 1 teaspoon lemon zest if desired.
  2. Wash and Dry the Berries: Rinse strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries under cold water. Gently pat dry with paper towels.
  3. Slice the Bagels: Cut 6 fresh bagels into halves horizontally. Toast lightly if preferred.
  4. Assemble the Bagel Board: Arrange bagel halves on a serving board or platter in a circular or rectangular pattern.
  5. Frost the Bagels: Spread the cream cheese frosting evenly over each bagel half using a spreading knife or offset spatula.
  6. Top with Berries: Pile the mixed berries artistically on top of each frosted bagel half.
  7. Final Touches: Drizzle honey or maple syrup over the berries if desired and scatter fresh mint leaves around the board.
  8. Serve Immediately: Enjoy fresh. If needed, refrigerate for up to 2 hours before serving.

Notes

Use softened cream cheese for easy frosting. Dry berries well to avoid soggy bagels. Assemble no more than 1 hour before serving to keep freshness. Toast bagels lightly for added texture if desired. For dairy-free or gluten-free versions, substitute cream cheese and bagels accordingly.
