Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon cloves
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour (for streusel topping)
  • ½ cup brown sugar (for streusel topping)
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon (for streusel topping)
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted (for streusel topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan with butter or non-stick spray.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together 2 cups of flour, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, ½ teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, ½ teaspoon of nutmeg, and ¼ teaspoon of cloves.
  3. In another bowl, mix 1 cup of pumpkin puree, 1 cup of granulated sugar, ½ cup of brown sugar, ½ cup of vegetable oil, 2 eggs, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture using a spatula. Mix until just combined—don’t overmix.
  5. In a small bowl, stir together ½ cup of flour, ½ cup of brown sugar, ½ teaspoon of cinnamon, and ¼ cup of melted butter until crumbly.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread evenly. Sprinkle the streusel topping generously over the batter.
  7. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a cooling rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

If the streusel starts browning too quickly, cover the bread loosely with aluminum foil during the last 15 minutes of baking. Let the bread cool completely before slicing to avoid crumbling.
