Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 3/4 cups (220g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon cloves
  • 1 cup (240ml) pumpkin puree
  • 3/4 cup (150g) granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup (100g) brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup (135g) chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
  3. In a large bowl, combine pumpkin puree, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth and well combined.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, folding gently with a spatula until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips, reserving a few to sprinkle on top.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading it evenly. Sprinkle the reserved chocolate chips on top.
  7. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

For easy cleanup, line your pan with parchment paper. If your bread is browning too quickly on top, cover it loosely with foil for the last 10 minutes of baking.
