A refreshing peach iced tea with fresh mint that captures the perfect summer vibe in a glass. This easy homemade drink combines sweet peaches and crisp mint for a soothing and invigorating beverage.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 black tea bags (Twinings or Lipton recommended)
  • 3 medium-sized ripe fresh peaches
  • 1012 fresh mint sprigs
  • 1/4 to 1/3 cup granulated sugar or honey (adjust to taste)
  • 6 cups filtered water (1.4 liters)
  • 12 tablespoons lemon juice (optional)
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Bring 6 cups (1.4 liters) of filtered water to a rolling boil in a kettle or saucepan (about 5 minutes).
  2. Remove water from heat and add 4 black tea bags. Steep for 5-7 minutes depending on desired strength, then remove tea bags.
  3. Wash and slice 3 ripe peaches into thin wedges. Set aside a few slices for garnish.
  4. Place 10-12 fresh mint sprigs in a pitcher and gently muddle with a muddler or the back of a wooden spoon to release aroma without pulverizing.
  5. Stir 1/4 to 1/3 cup granulated sugar or honey into the hot tea until fully dissolved. Adjust sweetness to taste.
  6. Pour the sweetened tea into the pitcher over the muddled mint. Add sliced peaches and optional 1-2 tablespoons lemon juice.
  7. Let the mixture cool at room temperature for about 15 minutes, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow flavors to meld.
  8. Serve over ice cubes, garnished with reserved peach slices and fresh mint sprigs.

Notes

Gently muddle mint leaves to avoid bitterness. Use ripe, fresh peaches for best flavor. Adjust sweetness gradually. Chill thoroughly for best taste. Frozen peaches can be used if thawed and drained. Optional lemon juice adds brightness. Dilute with cold water or add more ice if tea is too strong after chilling.
