A quick and easy sugar-free sparkling water infused with fresh cherries and lime juice, perfect for a refreshing summer drink without any guilt or added sugar.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (150g) fresh cherries, pitted and halved
  • Juice of 2 medium limes (about 2 tablespoons or 30 ml)
  • 2 cups (480 ml) sparkling water, chilled
  • 12 teaspoons natural sugar-free sweetener (optional, e.g., stevia, erythritol, monk fruit)
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Rinse about 1 cup (150g) fresh cherries, pit them carefully, then halve each one. Place them into a medium bowl.
  2. Using a muddler or the back of a wooden spoon, gently press the cherries to release their juice and break them down slightly. Do not pulverize into a puree; just enough to get the flavor out (about 1-2 minutes).
  3. Cut 2 medium limes in half and squeeze out the juice using a citrus juicer or by hand. Strain the juice if you prefer no pulp.
  4. Add 1-2 teaspoons of your chosen sugar-free sweetener to the lime juice. Stir until dissolved completely. Adjust sweetness based on your taste preference.
  5. Pour the lime and sweetener mixture into the muddled cherries. Stir gently to combine and let the flavors meld for a minute.
  6. Fill your glass or pitcher with about 2 cups (480 ml) of chilled sparkling water. Pour the cherry-lime mixture over it.
  7. Use a spoon or stirrer to combine all the ingredients carefully, mixing flavors without losing the fizz.
  8. Add ice cubes to chill the drink further. Garnish with a few whole cherries or a sprig of mint if desired.
  9. Serve immediately for best fizz and refreshment.

Notes

Muddle cherries gently to avoid a cloudy or gritty drink. Use fresh lime juice for best flavor. Keep sparkling water very cold before mixing to preserve fizz. Adjust sweetener to taste or omit for a tart natural flavor. Store cherry-lime mixture in fridge up to 2 days; add sparkling water just before serving.
