  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp smoked paprika (optional)
  • 2 tbsp fresh chives, finely chopped (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Black olives (sliced into thin rounds for Jack Skellington’s eyes)
  • Black food gel or edible marker (for drawing his stitched smile)
  • Crackers or pretzels (to serve)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, shredded cheddar, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, chives (if using), salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth and well combined.
  2. Shape the cheese mixture into a ball using your hands or a piece of plastic wrap.
  3. Wrap the cheese ball in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to firm up.
  4. Place the chilled cheese ball onto your serving platter.
  5. Slice the black olives into thin rounds and arrange them on the cheese ball to form Jack Skellington’s eyes. Use smaller pieces for his nostrils.
  6. Using black food gel or an edible marker, carefully draw Jack’s stitched smile across the cheese ball.
  7. Arrange crackers or pretzels around the cheese ball and serve.

Notes

Make sure cream cheese is fully softened for easier mixing. Chilling the cheese ball is crucial for firming up before decorating. Practice Jack’s face design on parchment paper for precision.
