A fun and spooky Halloween punch featuring lime sherbet, citrus juices, soda, and theatrical dry ice fog for a memorable party experience.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 quart (950 ml) lime sherbet
  • 2 cups (480 ml) limeade concentrate or fresh lime juice mixed with water
  • 4 cups (960 ml) ginger ale or lemon-lime soda
  • 1 cup (240 ml) pineapple juice
  • Green food coloring (optional, a few drops)
  • 12 pounds (450900 grams) dry ice chunks
  • Fresh lime slices for garnish
  • Optional Halloween garnishes: gummy worms, plastic spiders (for decoration only)

Instructions

  1. Chill all liquid ingredients (limeade, ginger ale, pineapple juice, and soda) in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before assembling.
  2. In a large punch bowl, mix 2 cups (480 ml) limeade or fresh lime juice with 1 cup (240 ml) pineapple juice. Stir gently to combine.
  3. Slowly pour in 4 cups (960 ml) ginger ale or lemon-lime soda, stirring gently to blend flavors without losing fizz.
  4. Scoop about 4-6 large scoops (approximately 1 quart or 950 ml) of lime sherbet on top of the punch. It will start to melt, creating a creamy foam.
  5. Add a couple of drops of green food coloring if desired, stirring gently to intensify the color.
  6. Just before serving, carefully add small chunks of dry ice to the punch bowl using gloves or tongs. The fog effect will start immediately. Never allow dry ice to touch skin or be ingested.
  7. Garnish the punch with fresh lime slices and optional Halloween decorations like gummy worms.
  8. Serve immediately in clear glasses, ensuring no dry ice pieces get into the cups. Warn guests to avoid touching or swallowing dry ice.

Notes

Handle dry ice with gloves or tongs; never ingest or touch directly. Add dry ice last and do not stir vigorously after adding to preserve fog effect. Chill all liquids beforehand for best results. Dry ice fog lasts about 20-30 minutes; add smaller pieces gradually to extend effect. For non-dairy version, use lime-flavored coconut milk sorbet instead of sherbet. Adults can add 1 cup (240 ml) white rum or vodka for a spirited twist.
